Leadership at The Alternative Energy Company

David E. “Zeke” Fairbank is the founder and president of The Alternative Energy Company, LLC. The Alternative Energy Company is a full service firm offering renewable energy equipment sales, design and installation services as well as building energy audits.

In January, The Alternative Energy Company completed the installation of a 40kW Residential photovoltaic system in Eureka, MO. This is the largest residential solar system in the Mid-West and one of the top 5 nationally.

An engineering graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and a finance graduate from New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration, Zeke has significant experience in ‘hands on’ engineering, large project management, financial analysis, procurement and operations consulting.

During the past 25 years, Zeke has worked in several industries and worked with various organizations including the US Government, The Coca-Cola Company, and the Electric Utility Industry.

Recently, Zeke completed training in Advanced Photovoltaic Power Systems from SEI (Solar Energy International), and in March he will receive certification in building efficiency and audit from RESNET. He expects also to be certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners after he sits for his board exam in September.

As a volunteer in Springfield, Missouri Zeke served as the Treasurer then President of Parents and Advocates for Gifted Education from 2006-9. He has also served on the Park & Recreation’s Hockey Advisory Committee, and the Board of Education’s Parent’s Advisory Committee. An avid hockey player, Zeke is captain of the Ferrell- Duncan Skulls Hockey Team, and has served as both a Junior Varsity and Squirt Level Coach for the Springfield Youth Hockey Association and the Kansas City Storm.

Zeke is married to the love of his life, Judy Smith, MD, and has three gifted children who attend Central High School.
